Since the 16th century, the women of Skane, Sweden, have been weaving cushions, to be used in the carriage they ride in to be wed. Employing traditional methods of dyeing, decorating and weaving with thread, the stories of these women are told in the warp and weft of the cushion cover. River Weave translated here in a contemporary blend of fibers, describes a life journey imagined as a river. River Weave is inspired by a textile in the collections of the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
