| Description | These hand knotted, thick, long pile rugs originated in many rural areas of Morocco and other North African countries. Today, we see manufacturing coming from many rug making countries, such as India & Turkey. Designs have severe geometric Moroccan decoration, muted tones and are most always asymmetrical and irregular. They are primitive, diagonal compositions that give it an abstract tribal sense. The raw material of the Moroccan rugs is black or white sheep's wool, used as is or dyed with plants or minerals found locally.
