Harwood Steiger, a design studio established by husband and wife team, Harwood and Sophie Steiger, created a lasting legacy for their hand silk-screened textiles. Their studio in Tubac, Arizona founded in the mid 20th Century gained a reputation for its iconic designs of stylized plant and animal renderings, and Southwestern desertscapes. Saguaro WP, inspired by an original Harwood Steiger design, features a landscape full of flowering cacti and the occasional desert birds found in the Sonoran Desert. The ever present Saguaro cacti are one of the most recognized Southwestern motif, and provide a portrait of the desertscape in a minimalistic mid-century flair.
